His Excellency Saood Abdulaziz Al Hosani
Saood Abdulaziz Al Hosani is an Emirati transformational leader renowned for his visionary approach in culture, tourism, and innovation. As Undersecretary of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), Al Hosani is responsible for driving the Department’s transformative mandate: contributing to the development of Abu Dhabi into a dynamic cultural capital and a world-leading leisure and business destination. He drives strategic public policy, shaping integrated strategies that unify culture, tourism, heritage, and creative industries under a future-focussed vision for the emirate. The delivery of vibrant public spaces and diverse cultural programming under Al Hosani’s leadership acts as a major catalyst for improving the quality of life for all residents whilst generating significant socioeconomic impact, boosting job creation, attracting foreign investment, and diversifying the non-oil economy.
With over 25 years of experience in strategic planning and financial management across tourism, culture,
media, technology and finance, Al Hosani plays an instrumental role in advancing DCT Abu Dhabi’s mission to
promote, protect and progress the emirate. His leadership has fostered foreign direct investment, cultivated a
productive business-friendly environment, and accelerated socio-economic growth, building a resilient future
for Abu Dhabi.
Through his leadership, Al Hosani has spearheaded major transformation programmes, including globally
recognised innovations and AI-driven digital transformation initiatives. These efforts have strengthened Abu
Dhabi’s global standing as a centre of culture, creativity, and experiential tourism, elevated the emirate’s
cultural identity, enhanced visitor experiences, empowered creative communities, and accelerated digital
transformation across the sectors.
He is pivotal in regulatory oversight of both the tourism and culture sectors, including the Creative and Culture
Industries. His regulatory leadership ensures all activities and institutions operate within frameworks that
promote quality, authenticity and sustainability. Extensive collaboration with international, regional and
national stakeholders including UNESCO, global tourism bodies, neighbouring Gulf states and local agencies,
has shaped Abu Dhabi’s global positioning and ensures the comprehensive realisation of its long-term cultural
and economic vision.
Al Hosani is recognised for blending strategic foresight with cultural authenticity, designing systems that
position Abu Dhabi as a leading cultural capital while driving socio-economic development. His initiatives have
advanced world-class museum ecosystems, heritage preservation, creative industry growth, and global
institutional partnerships.
His leadership philosophy embodies the modern Emirati model: innovation grounded in identity, excellence
with empathy, and sustainability through awareness. He champions conscious, human-centred leadership,
transforming organisations into ecosystems of creativity, growth, and long-term impact, and shaping
environments where people and ideas thrive.
He serves on numerous local and international committees, such as the Finance and Development Committee
at the International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage in Conflict Areas (ALIPH), the Higher Committee of
the Digital Government, the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Group and the Leaders for Impact Committee (LFI), which
consolidates and coordinates efforts across Early Childhood Development (ECD) programmes in Abu Dhabi in
line with the emirate’s ECD Strategy 2035. Al Hosani is also serves as a Board Member of the National Library
and Archives.
