Initiatives to develop capabilities and the Emiratisation of the tourism sector

The Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) is responsible for developing high-quality tourism and cultural offerings for the local community and visitors to the emirate. DCT Abu Dhabi contributes to consolidating the capital's position as a preferred global destination, while remaining committed to protecting and promoting the emirate's cultural heritage.

We seek to achieve these strategic goals through innovative projects and initiatives which showcase Abu Dhabi’s tourism, cultural and heritage elements and build bridges of understanding within our society and beyond. We aim to continually refine and enhance the capabilities, expertise and communication skills of those working in the tourism sector, to ensure that those who are in direct contact with visitors project a positive image of Abu Dhabi as a tourism destination. We cooperate with partners and stakeholders to organise training programmes and courses that attract Emiratis and different nationalities to work in the tourism sector.
